What To Expect During Your Annual Eye Exam

Here at Blackstone Eye Center, you will experience a different kind of eye care; one that is targeted to ensure the best quality of care while maintaining a relaxing, spa-like environment.


Your eye exam will start with a detailed assessment reviewing your personal systemic history, family history, overall vision/lifestyle goals and any concerns you would like addressed at your visit. You skin concerns can also be brought up at during your eye exam which can be co-managed with Dr. Amin and our well-trained Aesthetician.

Once the preliminary information has been reviewed, we conduct a series of pre-tests along with assessing your glasses and/or contact lens prescription. We then evaluate the structures of the front surface of your eye, helping to rule out dry eye, corneal scars and many other conditions. We also have various methods to check your eye pressures, and for those who do not like multiple eye drops, no fear, we have a non-contact way of measuring your pressures! Finally, we evaluate the health of the back of your eye.

Here at Blackstone Eye Center, we have all the latest technology to address various eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, retinal detachments and much more! We are also one of the only providers in the area that has a screening tool that not only takes a picture of the back of your eye, but does a scan through the deeper layer of your retina to help pick up early signs of macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy and even brain tumors! Within a matter of seconds, this technology helps Dr. Amin not only address multiple concerning eye diseases, but also can save lives!

At the end of your exam, Dr. Amin will review all of the information collected during your exam, and create a treatment plan individualized towards your eye and wellness goals. She also works with your PCP and other doctors to make sure that not only your eye health is taken care of, but also your systemic health.
